A pencil pot shaped like a giant sharpener, turned from rubberwood with a stainless steel blade set into the top — which is to say it sharpens as well as it stores, and does both without a second object on the desk.
Rubberwood comes from trees felled at the end of their latex-producing years, so it is a by-product rather than a crop. Eighty-five by 120 millimetres, 264 grams, and weighted enough not to tip when a pencil is pulled out in a hurry.
