A mason jar with a solar panel, a rechargeable cell and an LED hidden under the lid, so it charges itself on a windowsill or a fence post and comes on by itself once the light goes. Frosted glass, a waterproof rubber seal, and a switch under the lid if you would rather decide for yourself.
Around five hours of glow from a full charge. Designed by Tobias Wong for Suck UK. It suits a garden table in August and a hallway shelf in November, which is more than most outdoor lights manage.
