The dog-sized version of the Zabzugu basket, handwoven in Ghana from elephant grass in a black and white geometric pattern that is worked into the weave. High sides make a den; the front drops low so a dog can walk in rather than climb.
Elephant grass is a fast-growing, renewable material and it takes a weave beautifully — strong, breathable, and light enough to move between rooms with one hand. Every bed is made by a person using traditional technique, so no two match exactly. Wipe clean with a damp cloth. Add a folded blanket if the floor is cold.
